Heilo, Heilo Again (with apologies to The Cars)

Super-teacher Nancy Ruehle and I have declared the first quarter of 2007 "Knit a Norgi!" time. By Norgi, we mean a traditional Dale of Norway sweater in two or more colors. To that end, I ordered up a mess o' Dale of Norway Heilo (pronounced "halo"), which has just reached the shop and been put online.

Why knit a Norgi? There are so very many reasons -- warmth, style, tradition, and a chance to learn some new knitting skills (like crocheted steeks and two-color knitting in the round). Perhaps I'm biased, but I consider Dale of Norway sweaters to be the very pinnacle of cold-weather fashion. Here's a Dale model that we have displayed in the shop:

We have lots of Dale patterns to choose from; the above sweater would make an excellent first-Norgi choice as you get a lot of two-color bang for the buck with a minimum of two-color knitting.

Online customers -- please check out our super-extensive collection of Dale of Norway Heilo. Local customers -- consider taking our "Knitting a Norgi" class in January and/or February and adding one of these classic Norwegian beauties to your winter wardrobe.
