Annie, Get Your Fern

As you may recall, Yarnzilla had the pleasure of hosting Annie Modesitt as an instructor several months ago, and quite frankly, our sides still hurt from laughing.
One of my customers/friends, Caren -- whom you might recall from a previous post, in which she brought her beagle puppy to the store, went to prom with Craig Kilbourn, and published an amazing coffee-table book about Rita Hayworth -- fell head-over-heels in love with Annie Modesitt's "Morris Fern" cardigan (the pattern for which can be had for free at the subscriber-only area of Interweave Knits' website):

Despite valiant efforts on my part (read: a couple of phone calls to Muench and another yarn store), we simply could not lay hands quickly and easily on the yarn and yarn colors used in Annie's original garment.
Caren prowled the store in search of an alternate yarn that would fill the bill; she selected the sumptuous Rowan 4-Ply Soft and totally redid the color scheme.
The yarns looked terrific together laid out on one of our worktables, and I couldn't wait to see how the sweater would look, recolored so radically. Caren brought in her work-in-progress the other day, and the answer is: It looks like a million stinking bucks!

A small section of Caren's version of Annie Modesitt's "Morris Fern," still on the needles and in progress

Gorgeous, n'est-ce pas?

Speaking of gorgeous, Caren is super pretty, nice as heck, smart, and recently divorced. Help me out, local knitters, and find this woman a soulmate (resemblance to Craig Kilbourn highly optional . . .)

I love the new color combination! It actually works better for us "northern" girls - the yellowy/color wouldn't look good on me. Anyway - where is the pattern available? Will you have a list up in the store of the yarns and colors she used?
