Meet the Beagle
Yarnzilla regular Caren brought along her brand-new baby beagle on Tuesday to knit with us in the shop. The puppy's name is Tammy -- is she cute or what?!
Keen-eyed readers will note that Caren's wearing a sweater she knit from ArtYarns Ultramerino 8 from a great Knitting Pure & Simple cardigan pattern (I was so blown away by Caren's sweater the first time I saw it finished that I'm knitting the same one for myself in a different colorway). Caren and I both have dibs on yarn for Artyarn's new "Butter and Jam" sweater, as soon as our shipment of ArtYarns Ultramerino 6 arrives (still a couple weeks away). "Butter and Jam" is an original design by Annie Modesitt, and if you're looking for an intermediate-level tailored cardigan with lots of interest (cables, fair-isle), this is just the ticket. With the very kind assistance of Iris Schreier of ArtYarns, we've ordered five different colorways for the sweater, including Annie's original one.
Although it has nothing to do with knitting, I can't help but add that Caren's date for senior prom back in the day was Craig Kilborn -- yes, television's beloved Craig Kilborn! Sadly, only a chaste kiss was exchanged, and one of dubious quality and heat, at that. Caren is also the author of a fabulous biography of Rita Hayworth -- a big company published it and everything, and it has a rating of 5 stars on Amazon.com! Yarnzilla hearts Caren!

I love the Butter and Jam sweater!! Can I put dibs on some of the yarn too?!? :-) I hope that it is not beyond my ability but it will soon be added to my list of projects. Keeps us posted on the arrival date of the yarn!!! Thanks!
